This Week we have been learning about the Autumn celebration of Bonfire night. We have been discussing how to stay safe around bonfires and fireworks. One thing the children were really interested in was how we can help keep animals safe on Bonfire night. We learned about how before building a bonfire it is important to check for wildlife such as hedgehogs because they like to hide in leaves and this can cause problems. We talked about hibernating hedgehogs and other animals that prepare for winter hibernation. We made our own very cute hedgehogs with playdough. Then we made them little hibernation homes with leaves. We had lots of fun learning about hibernation. We also made some wonderful firework pictures with lots of bright, vibrant colours.
