During our ‘Mad about Mini-beasts’ we have been looking after live caterpillars. We have watched them get bigger and bigger each day. In recent days, the caterpillars have developed their chrysalises so they can begin their transformation. We have been learning about how caterpillars grown and change so quickly. We are looking forward to them changing into beautiful butterflies.
We read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and learned about the process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. The children made some lovely Very Hungry Caterpillars, using tissue circles.
The children recalled all of the different foods the Very Hungry Caterpillar ate during the week.
