Jack and the Beanstalk

When we came into school on Monday morning, we noticed a delivery had arrived in the classroom. We opened the small box and found some magic beans. We wondered who they belonged to as the note only said ‘Please look after my beans’. The children thought they might belong to Jack from the story Jack and the Beanstalk. So, we read the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to find out more about these magic beans.

The children thought about what might happen if we plant these magic beans. Would a beanstalk grow? If so, would there be a Giant’s castle at the top. We also wondered if a magic beanstalk was to grow, what would grow on the magic beanstalk? The children had some amazing idea of chocolate coins, donuts and even hotdogs.
