Today, was our first day back after the February half term holiday and we were so excited to find a special box in our classroom. Someone had made a special delivery. But who????

We opened the box to find some magic beans inside. There was a note to say ‘Please look after my magic beans’. One of our children said she thought the magic beans belonged to someone called Jack. She had read a story about magic beans and a magic beanstalk. So, we found the story and read it. We found out that Jack’s mam threw the magic beans out of the window and an enormous beanstalk grew overnight.

The children loved learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We acted out the story using puppets, masks and props. The children were excellent at using character voices to bring the story to life.

We also designed our own magic beanstalks. Thinking about what we would like to see grow on our own magic beanstalks. The children came up with some great ideas.

The children also painted pictures of beanstalks using different shades of green.
