This week we noticed that Koko our class koala was feeling a bit sad. When we asked him what was wrong he told us that it was going to be his birthday but he had no one to celebrate with. The children very kindly told Koko they would help him celebrate. The children decided to throw Koko a birthday party so we got straight on to planning and preparing a celebration.
We made a list of all of the things we would need for the party and then made some wonderful birthday items such as:
* invitations to hand out to every child in the class
*cards to give to Koko. He was turning 4 so we worked hard practising the formation of 4
*wrapping paper to wrap up presents for Koko
*decorations to put up around the classroom
*yummy cakes to eat.
Koko was so surprised that the children had planned and prepared such a wonderful party. We ate party food, danced and played games such as musical statues and bumps then pass the parcel. Wow! What a great day we all had. Koko was definitely feeling happy after such a fantastic celebration.
