This week we found out it was going to be Koko, our class Koala's birthday. he told us he was feeling sad because he had no one to celebrate with. The children were really keen to help Koko to celebrate his birthday. We decided to throw Koko a surprise party. So, the children got to work planning and preparing a birthday party. They made lists of all of the things we would need for the party such as cakes, wrapping paper, card, present, music, pizza, juice, crisps, party plates and cups and more. They then worked really hard to make some party decorations to make the classroom look party ready. The children made banners, cards, bunting and even a table cloth for the party food. They wrote invitations for all of their friends. They were so excited for the party. The children chose and wrapped presents for Koko with some of his favourite things such as cars, books and soft toys.

On Wednesday, we surprised Koko with his party and he was so happy. The children sang happy birthday to him and helped him to unwrap his presents. We then had a fantastic party together. We played party games such as musical bumps and statues and then pass the parcel. We then shared some party food and cake.

It was such a fantastic party. Koko was delighted the children had worked so hard to prepare him a lovely surprise party.
