As part of our topic ‘Toys and Bears’ we read the story 'Harry and the Robots'. In the story Harry uses lots of junk modelling materials to build his own robots. The children have been designing and making our own robots. The children had some excellent ideas for their robots and were really good at choosing the most suitable resources and materials.
We have also been learning to code our robot mouse. The children were very good at programming instructions to help the robot move in different directions.
We also looked at lots of different types of robots and looked at how robots help us in the world of work. Lots of robots use magnets to pick things up. We explored magnets by going on a magnetic metals hunt around the school. we found lots of magnetic items such as Mr Mahan's keys and ladders, the door and some handles.
