As part of our 'Mad about Minibeasts' topic we have been learning all about spiders. We went on a spider hunt around the garden and managed to find a few. We put them into the magnifying tubs to have a closer look. We did lots of fun activities related to spiders such as ordering spiders by size, counting flies in the webs and sliding spiders down the drain pipe onto the numbers. We loved singing Incy Wincy spider, one of our favourite nursery rhymes.
We also made our own beautiful webs using PVA glue and glitter. This was very effective. The children also made webs by threading wool through holes on a piece of card. This is very good for developing fine motor skills.
The children are all showing such an interest in different minibeasts.
