This half term, we are learning about different types of toys. We will be thinking about the different materials toys are made with, the different functions they have and how they operate. This week we have set up a toy shop in Nursery. At the start of the week the children all recieved £1 to go to the toy shop and buy one toy they could take home with them. Miss Mordey was the shop keeper and she helped the children choose and pay for their toy and get their change too. The children had so much fun picking and trying out their new toys.
The children loved taking turns to be the shop keeper and the customers. The adults supported the children to use the language related to money and buying items from a shop such as 'Excuse me, how much does this toy cost?' 'Can I buy this toy please?'. We have had lots of fun.
