This week as part of our Toys topic, we went to visit Mrs Lawrance's shop. The children each took £1 with them to buy a toy. Everything in Mrs Lawrance's shop cost 50p so they children were each given change. The children were so excited to choose a special toy to buy and take home. 

We then set up our own toyshop in the classroom. The children have really enjoyed taking turns to act as the shopkeeper and the customers. There has been some fantastic mathematical vocabulary used in the toy shop such as 'How much does it cost?' 'I only have 1p, I need 3 more 3p'. The children have been counting out their pennies to pay for their chosen toys.
