We have been learning that we have light from the sun and because the Earth turns, we have day and night. We used the torch to represent the sun and the children were the planet Earth. When the children turned they found that they could no longer see the light, just as when the Earth turns away from the sun it is night because it is dark. Afterwards we sorted activities that we would do during the day, night, or both.
