On Monday 13th November 2023 the Wellbeing Ambassadors attended an Anti-bullying Conference at Hetton Academy. The children took part on some activities related to bullying. The children worked with other children from local schools to talk about different aspects about bullying. The children talked about the different roles people can play in a bullying situation such as a victim defender, bully encourager, bystander, upstander etc.
The children also talked about how everyone is different and this makes us all special. They discussed topics which encouraged children to think about the things pupils may go through such a puberty, gender stereotypes, gender identify, self-image etc. This was to encourage the children to think how everyone has different experiences and it is important to be supportive of these rather than using them as a reason to tease or bully someone.
