6 – 12th February 2023 is Children’s Mental Health Week.

The week is run by children’s mental health charity Place2Be to raise awareness of the importance of children and young people’s mental health. This year’s theme is Let’s Connect.
What's it all about?
Let’s Connect is about making meaningful connections, and for Children’s Mental Health Week 2023. Place2Be is encouraging people to connect with others in healthy, rewarding and meaningful ways.
On Monday, our assembly was all about making connections and our Breakout sessions this week, have been designed to give children time to connect and make meaningful connections with their friends and school staff.
In our Breakout sessions on Friday, each class spent time making meaningful connections with their peers. The children took part in some games to help them with this. One game required the children to hold hands in a circle, this represented the connections between the children. Then they needed to pass a hula hoop around the circle without breaking the connection. This was lots of fun! The children also played Connect Bingo and another game which gave the children topics to discuss to try and find connections between themselves and others. Some of our younger children even went to another classroom to make connections with children in Nursery and Reception class. It was such a fun afternoon and there were lots of amazing connections made.
