Year 2,4 and 6 took part in workshops with the local Fire Brigade, all about fire safety and behaviour in the local community. The Fire Officers who held the workshops talked to the children about their roles in the fire brigade, this was great for our Careers education. The fire officers also told the children about ways they can keep themselves and families safe at home by making checks to their fire detector alarms. They also spoke about what children should do if they spot a fire in the community and the importance of not playing with fire. 

It was fantastic to hear first hand from the fire fighters but also to see the equipment they use to fight fires. The children loved visiting the fire truck and finding out about what all the equipment does. They even had a go of the hose. It was lots of fun and very informative!
