Local History Workshop

The year 2022 marks 100 years since Pyrex was first made in Sunderland.  To celebrate the city’s glass making tradition we were lucky to have a visit from Sunderland Museum to help us to recognise the important role of glassmaking in the story of Sunderland and the people that live here.  We learned all about Pyrex, how Pyrex was invented and first made in Sunderland and the jobs and careers involved in the factories in the local area.
