As part of our topic on the local area Year 1 visited Durham Castle to learn about the past.

We saw the cathedral as we walked across the bridge. It was amazing!

Then we went in the big hall and also looked in the chapel. 

After lunch we had the chance to make our own model castle with a moving drawbridge.

Finally  we worked together to build a fortified castle wall and tested it so see how strong it was. 

We had an amazing day!
