As part of our music lessons we learnt to sing call and response chants using the correct pitch.
We learnt the chant 'Che Che Kule' from Ghana, and the chant 'Kumala Vista'.
We had to keep the pulse using body percussion or percussion instruments such as a hand drum, tambourine, maracas, castanets.
We split into two groups - one group did the call and the other group did the response.
We also made up some actions to the songs to go with the rhythm.
Finally we learnt the chant 'A sailor went to sea, sea, sea' but we changed some of the words to compose our own chants.
