As part of our English curriculum, the children in Year Two were surprised with a 'ticket' to travel to the North Pole on board the famous Christmas train. First they had to predict which story they'd be reading by looking at part of an image from the book. They made lots of predictions about winter and Christmas Then we found tickets for every child hidden in envelopes. They were so excited when they opened them and saw what it was. The children then listened to an animated version of the book and had to retell the story by putting some pictures in the correct order in their books. Mrs Cowan now has to find a way to break the news that they aren't actually going on the real Polar Express!
