In Design and Technology, the children have been tasked with designing a chair for Baby Bear. So far, they have tested the stability of different shapes such as square-based pyramids, spheres and cuboids. They then investigated whether the shape of something makes it stronger or weaker and they made cylindrical structures and counted how many books could be balanced on top. Our strongest structure held 50 books before it collapsed. Look out for more photos of our finished products in coming weeks. We may have some design engineers of the future in Year Two.
