Year Two have been investigating stability and strength this week as they prepare to design their own structures in DT. The children tested cuboids, cylinders, pyramids and triangular prisms to see which could carry the most books and which shape could be tipped up without toppling over. Year Two have discovered that for something to be stable, it needs a flat, wide base and for something to be strong, curves are better than straight sides and corners, Next week the design and building process will begin...look out for more photographs.
