This week in Year Two, the children completed their D&T project. Previously, they investigated stability, tested strength and designed a seat that would be suitable for Baby Bear to sit in. They had to stick to the design criteria and work as a team. Here are the finished results. The groups worked really hard to complete their builds in the allocated time. Once they were finished, Baby Bear had to sit on all of the chairs to see which ones would withstand his weight. Some were stronger and more stable than others but one thing everybody was able to do, was to look at their own design and think about how they could improve it next time. Year Two know that designers and engineers almost never get the perfect design the first time around. They also had lots of fun during the project.
