As part of the SMSC Breakout curriculum, Year Two explored the question: How do I respect my local area? We looked at examples of vandalism and talked about how causing damage can have consequences for lots of people in the community. We talked about taking our litter home,  smiling at our neighbours or shop keepers and moving out of the way to let other people past.  The children decided that if they want other people to respect the area, they need to as well. They even designed the perfect playground for people to look after and respect in the future.
