As part of our art unit on drawing skills, the children in Year Two did drawings of their own soft toys. Part of their job was to look closely at the shapes they could see within the toy. We saw ovals, rectangles and cylinders and had to hold the pencils really lightly so that sketches could be made and mistakes easily hidden or rubbed out. Everyone enjoyed talking about and sketching their own toy from home and. to wrap up our lesson, we turned the classroom into an art gallery and viewed everyone's creations.
