Children were pleased to be welcomed back to school into their new class.  After initial first day nerves, they have all said they have had a fantastic first week and have particularly enjoyed beginning our new art topic, developing their skills as artists.  They have spent time looking at geometric and organic shapes in objects and using these as a basis for beginning their own sketches before adding finer detail and shading.  They got to spend time out in the sun creating observational drawings working in their sketch books.  They also spent time evaluating their own and their friend's work, looking for ways to improve.  The children have also spent time becoming acquainted with some of the maths equipment they will be using during their time in Year 3.
