During SMSC Breakout session Year 3 thought about how they become unwell with bugs and germs. They initially covered their hands in flour and discussed their thoughts about where bugs and germs can be found and how they could prevent these from spreading.  They were quite shocked with some of the facts and couldn't believe how many surfaces they touch and come into contact with each day.  At the end of the lesson, the purpose of the flour was revealed and they realised just how far and quickly germs, bugs and bacteria can be spread around.  They talked about how to protect themselves by washing their hands before eating, after touching animals, after coughing or sneezing to prevent unnecessary spreading.
