As part of their history topic about the Stone Age through to the Iron Age, Year 3 have been finding out about how pre-historic humans survived without basic essentials like food, clothes and warm homes like we have today. They found out that these early humans were 'hunter/gatherers', and roamed the landscape in search of food and places to live. They quickly realised that this could be quite dangerous at times, though some things would have been an asset to their life. The children spent time in the school grounds looking for what they might use to survive, finding wood, hazelnuts, different berries, fish, birds and other wildlife that may be around. They have lots of fun investigating.
