As part of our Art topic, "Seeing like and Artist", Year 3 have been looking at different images and objects and finding simple shapes the artist may have used to form a basic plan of their masterpiece, before adding finer detail and shading.  The children then went on to try sketching some simple objects of their own using this technique to create accurate sketches of their chosen objects.  They had to remember to keep looking at the object, rather than trying to remember what it looks like.
