For our science week investigation this year, Year 4 have had an amazing time making some slime! We learned all about what each of the ingredients does and how they react to each other to create the slimy texture and feel. It was really important to measure out the ingredients correctly and mix them all together so that they combined well to create the slime.

The ingredients that we used to create the slime were:

-PVA glue

- bicarbonate of soda

- contact lens solution (that contains boric acid)

- food colouring

We started with the PVA glue and then added a little bit of bicarbonate of soda. We had to make sure that this was mixed together really well. Then, the children chose which colour they would like their slime to be, and added food colouring to it. Finally, we added just a few drops of the contact lens solution and combined it... and our mixture became slime!

The children had so much fun taking part in our Science Week investigation!
