On Wednesday 6th October, we went to Sunderland University to raise aspirations and also to show us that we have choices. To make us feel settled, we played an ice-breaker game. We had to try to guess which jobs needed a degree or not. Before lunch, pour group got a campus tour. We saw the library, lecture theatre, radio station, Catherine Cookson Reading Room, the court room and the cinema (which was full). We also designed our own university and mine was called ‘Vetiversity’ and it included a pet room, operating theatre and a check-up room. After lunch, we got to be mini medics. We tested our reflexes by hammering our knees, bandaged each other up and used a stethoscope. By Katie Colgin

Finally, it was time to say good-bye. Before we left, we took a photo of the whole class. I would recommend the next Year Four to go on the same visit and one last thing… that trip definitely raised my aspirations! By Lily Robson
