Children learned out about rip-tides, rescues and keeping safe along our coast.

We learned a lot and had a plenty of fun when lifeguards from the RNLI paid a visit. Children tried on safety clothing that the lifeguards wear, had a go with some of the bouyancy aids and lifesaving equipment and learned all about the different flags that might be seen along our coast. We watched real rescues and shared our thoughts about how we can keep ourselves and others safe while on the beach or near open water. The children also had to name as many North East rivers as they could - which linked nicely with Year Four's new topic Water Warriors!
