Moon and Mars

Year 5 took part in a Space Workshop led by staff and students based at Sunderland University.

We took part in a range of activities linked to the Moon:

· We discussed different careers/jobs in space—the skills connected to each of these.

· We completed a quiz based on a space timeline

· We learned some facts about people in space

· We used a moon map to locate areas of the moon—a bit like orienteering but on the moon using longitude and latitude!

We also took part in some activities linked to Mars:

· Created and coded lego robot Moon rovers

· We build a Lego Mars Space Station

· We also studied the Mars Rover landing sites

In the afternoon, we created presentations which used all the knowledge we learned during the morning sessions.
