Suzie, from Dogs Trust, visited our class to share information about dogs and how to interact safely with them.

We became detectives and investigated what happened to Tom, an eight-year-old boy, who as bitten by a dog.

We looked at all of the dogs and their breeds. Quickly, we made initial predictions about which dog it could have been.

Suzie gave us a pack of evidence with scenarios, which Tom was in with the different dogs.

In one situation, Tom hugged a dog, another he touched a dog when it was eating, another he touched a sleeping dog and also he tried to take a pair of socks from a dog’s mouth.

Year 6 did some acting as Tom and we thought about who was responsible in each situation.

We realised Tom was the one who was responsible.
