We started by identifying and investigating a range of shelters before exploring how to join and combine materials and components, finding out how to reinforce structures (through triangulation). Then, we had to test and find suitable textiles for the purpose of making a shelter (we needed them to be relatively strong and water resistant). Following this, we created a design brief for our product and highlighted its purpose and user. We drew exploded diagrams and labelled them to show what materials we would use and what our measurements may be, before beginning to make our structure. We have used hacksaws and sand paper to cut wood and shape it, before hot gluing the structure together; we have used corrugated cardboard wrapped in foil for our outer structure.
