Fencing - what an experience!
We had the opportunity to learn how to fence. We started our fencing session with learning and practising the ‘salute’ to show our opponents and the referees that we were ready.
Also, we learned the on guard position and how to move only forwards and backwards.
Then, we played a game of knee tag. This helped us to only move forwards and backwards.
Finally, we learned the rules of the game and played some opponents.
We had to strike the white square in the opponent’s bib or force them back over their cone line. This would result in a point.
If it was tied – there are no ties in fencing – it would all depend on the bend of the foil. The bigger the bend – the winner of that point. First player to 3 points wins.
