Year 6 have been reading the poem, The Fish, by Elizabeth Bishop.

Today, we used the poem to help us to visualise what was happening.

We used quotations from the poem and drew images to show what the author was trying to get us to picture in our heads.

The fish in the poem isn't having a very nice time as it has been caught! Some of the lines creatively show what the fish would look like.

"He was speckled with barnacles"

"Here and there
his brown skin hung in strips
like ancient wallpaper"

Take a look at our ideas.
