Year 6 have been looking at how a national aspect of history (mining) is reflected in our locality.
We started by looking at life in the Victorian era, and placing this period of time in the timeline of British history, then we explored the Industrial Revolution and child labour. Following this, we studied how land use in our local area has changed over time, before focusing specifically on mining.
We have put all of our research together, presented in a series of informative poster pages, which will make up an information book on the topic, which is to be displayed and read within school. Here are some examples of our work...
