This week, in our SMSC breakout session, we discussed ‘The Rule of Law’. We used images from the book, We Are All Born Free (by Amnesty, which represents – in images – the Universal Declaration of Human Rights), to support our discussion, asking and answering important questions on this topic. We worked in partners and carefully decided on a new law to propose. We presented our ideas to the rest of the class, explaining what rights and responsibilities this law would give people. Our meaningful message was, 'The law is the same for everyone – it must treat us all fairly.'

We know that The Rule of Law means:

The principle that all people and institutions are subject to and accountable to law that is fairly applied and enforced; the principle of government by law.
